Raducanu reached the third round in three Grand Slam tournaments Grand Slams in the current campaign.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain will not compete in the last two tournaments in 2025 as a result of a medical condition that has affected her for the last week and a half.

At 22 years old was scheduled to compete in Tokyo and Hong Kong but has decided to fly home to regain her health ahead of launching plans for the 2026 season.

Her upcoming training will involve her coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals have agreed to work together in 2026.

She had her blood pressure taken during her first-round match versus Ann Li in Wuhan and retired when trailing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She again required a visit from the doctor at the recent Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round.

Her movement was noticeably restricted in the deciding set versus Zhu owing to the lower back problem that has affected her on several occasions in 2025.

These outcomes signaled a promising season, in which Raducanu rose into the world's top 30 for the first time since her previous ranking, finished with a trio of defeats.

She held three match points before losing to Pegula in round three in Beijing last month.

The player achieved 28 matches in the current season and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami event in March.

As Britain's top player reached the quarter-finals of this WTA 1000 tournament, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route prior to a loss in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She worked with trainer Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role for the US Open.

The initial agreement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was for the remainder of the year but they will keep working together, with a training block pencilled in late this year.

Raducanu told that the trial session with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

The player was close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at the first competition with Roig in August's Cincinnati tournament.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in the New York tournament, where she reached the third round then falling to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
