Preview this Reimagined Legendary Journey: A Complimentary Trial for DQ7 Reimagined Arrives Shortly.

Enthusiasts eagerly awaiting the launch of Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined can get a head start much longer. A exciting demo version will go live on the seventh of January, granting a substantial look into the game's beginning segments. Critically, any save data earned within this demo will be able to be carried over directly into the main game upon its February launch.

More Than a Simple Remake: A Complete Reimagining

This title represents a comprehensive re-envisioning of the seminal year 2000 JRPG, first known as Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past. In a significant step away from other series remakes, like the recently launched HD-2D iterations, this reimagining embraces a charming 3D art style. Locales are designed to resemble intricate model sets, with protagonists sporting a appealing chibi-esque look.

"Taking into account the previous remake, the narrative was still notoriously extended. So we came to a determination that we wanted to streamline the story, [and] craft an experience for modern gamers."

Significant Mechanical Improvements and Modernizations

Square Enix have introduced numerous modernizations to update the original experience. These include:

  • Streamlined Field Encounters: Similar to contemporary role-playing games, weaker enemies can now be dispatched instantly on the field without initiating a separate traditional combat sequence.
  • Adjustable Combat Speed: Players can speed up battle sequences to quickly get past less challenging fights.
  • New Vocation Mechanics: A brand new character role has been added for this reimagining. Additionally, characters gain the capacity to take on a second vocation, greatly enhancing strategic options.

These refinements are designed to address one of the original title's common points of feedback: its considerable playtime. That original adventure could easily require more than 100 hours to finish. This reimagined version was specifically structured to refine flow and reduce any repetition.
