In the extremely competitive world of video games, it's typical for emerging rivals to disappear as swiftly as they enter the stage.
However this new installment is striving to alter that.
Here comes the latest entry in a long-running military shooter franchise commonly described as a grittier response to its main competitor.
This game has never quite been able to equal its best-known rival in regards of units sold or user base, but there are signs the latest version could reduce the distance.
An early access weekend allowing players a shot to try out the game in recent months set new benchmarks, and the buzz approaching its release has been immense.
However the project is still a major venture for publisher Electronic Arts, which has reportedly spent hundreds of millions of dollars producing it.
Reporters have talked to some of the creators to find out how they expect it will succeed.
Creation Team and Company Cooperation
A total of four teams have been developing the title under the Battlefield Studios banner.
They include veteran developer the Swedish studio, located in Sweden, Los Angeles-based Motive Studios and the Canadian studio in Canada.
Another, the UK studio, is located in Guildford.
The general manager is the executive of the two European teams, and explains to reporters that, in respect of what it's providing gamers, "the latest installment is arguably unbeatable."
Building On Past Shortcomings
The new release comes off the release of the futuristic Battlefield 2042, published four years ago to a negative feedback it struggled to bounce back from.
"We most likely couldn't build and design this new game without the insights we acquired in the last release," the manager tells the press.
One of those insights was to involve fans involved from the start, and the team started exclusive player playtests not long ago.
Their "reaction was incredibly encouraging," comments she.
One more omitted ingredient from the previous installment was a single-player campaign, which has been reintroduced in this version.
Criterion design director the design director is the one in charge of "ensuring those levels are as enjoyable and interesting as feasible for the audience."
In spite of claims that the size of the game had put a strain on the different developers partnering internationally to develop the game, the director is positive about the process.
"Partnering with varied backgrounds, different heritages, it's a really fascinating atmosphere to be engaged with every day," he shares.
"The complete method has been a fresh take but something really exciting because we are collaborating with individuals from internationally."
As for the expectation on the team, he says: "We feel demand but at the same time it's motivating.
"This is a large undertaking. It's probably the largest that the majority of the team have ever been involved in."
Emerging Developer Brings New View
This is certainly true of at least an individual developer, visual designer Vlad Kokhan.
This young professional produces the atmospheric effects that shape the mood, tone, and focus of the solo experience.
Vlad completed an training period at Criterion before getting a role at the company, and presently operates on a part-time basis while completing his digital arts qualification at his school.
He states he's a long-time fan of the franchise, and recollects experiencing the earlier title of the line at a friend's house when he was in his youth.
To be on it at present, as his debut professional role, "is hard to believe as tangible."
"It's truly incredible witnessing the advertising everywhere," he comments.
"Understanding that I have added my personal touch into the game is very dreamlike."
Launch Predictions and Ongoing Strategies
