Barça Ready for First Game at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend
Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league 30 months after they moved out to allow renovations to start.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators can be present based on approved permits. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. The club said completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.
Stadium Testing
The club conducted an open training session on the home pitch earlier this month. The club said they were hoping for permission by UEFA to play their next home Champions League game facing Eintracht on 9 December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
